Tip for Accounts

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

So, for every Debit there is an equal credit on the opposite column.

Debit the Receiver and Credit the Giver.

So, be careful what you give next time, as you may receive the same later.

The other rules are:-

Debit what comes in and Credit what goes out.

Debit all expenses and losses, Credit all income and gains.

What a non-accountant wonders -

Cash is debit balance, so are cars, buildings etc.

GOOD !

At the same time expenses and losses are also debit balance.

BAD !

How come both good and bad are in the same column ie debit side.

Ask me by email.

[email protected]

A correct JE in time saves many rectification JEs.

Computer Tips

On Windows :

To acess the Properties of a file/folder when you are in a hurry, double-click on the file/folder name holding down the [Alt] key.

When you convert a Word document to an HTML file, you will find that any AutoShape within the document will not show up in the HTML formatted document. To fix this problem, Cut each AutoShape to the Clipboardd Paste it back as a picture.

Now you  will have no problem in converting your file to an HTML document.
